Deserts is an ongoing photographic series that explores the human impact on remote places. The series refers to empty natural environments that are supposedly void of human activity.
The recordings are made with bespoke cameras that take one-pixel wide images at regular intervals. Displaying the passage of time, they question the permanence and integrity of deserts, revealing the essence of these remote spaces.
Our longing for untouched places and environments is overshadowed by the human presence and impact on nature, appearing as random visual markings and subtle traces on the abstracted images.
