House-city was created over four days by bricklaying students and staff from Newcastle College and construction workers from R.Bau. Building up to third floor level the two houses were juxtaposed with each other in rotational symmetry. Carefully synchronized and choreographed the opposite segments of the architectural shells slowly moved around each other until
house-city was completed.
House-city was made in conjunction with ARENA, Samling Foundation and
BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead
