The Wolfgang Weileder Studio is conscious about the environmental impact of creating artworks and is trying to use recycled materials, reclaimed materials and materials that may have a life beyond the artwork, in as many projects as possible.

For the temporary architectural installations, all used blocks and building materials were donated to local construction colleges and project partners to be used in construction training courses or on new buildings:

Several site-specific installations and architectural sculptures are made from Aquadyne, a material made from 100% recycled mixed plastic waste. Special thanks to Dr Oliver Heidrich for introducing this material to us. Aquadyne is used and re-used on several projects:
pars pro toto
bunker
cone
stilt house

Some of the sculptures are entirely made from reclaimed timber:

gap

Although not all artworks fit this criteria, this is the direction that the studio is moving towards and a standard that we hope to achieve.
